Unconventional warfare is performed by small, highly trained units, takes place behind regular lines of battle and involves such activities as reconnaissance, sabotage, raids, raids in force, assassination, and above all, the training and support of friendly guerrilla forces. This comes under the overall title of Direct Action.
Direct Action is an airsoft team based out of Jax, Fl. Originally formed by airsoft enthusiasts who were looking to organize safe and positive skirmishing in North Florida. Although Direct Action is a new team, it is a descendant of
ACES (advanced combat of engagement squad), a group of guys in the local area
who were formed out of an interest in going beyond paintball into more military
similation during the late 1990's.
In the beginning of 2003 the team had a sudden influx of new players expanding the small team to around 30 members, a decision was made to make some basic changes and try to move the team in a new direction. A committee was formed to oversee the team and to make Rule and Policy decisions, the committee
was made up of five senior members.
In January of 2004 the team was anxious to take the team to the next
level. We reorganized our structure to mimic that of a Special Forces
A-Team. Special emphasis was placed on training, both on the field and off
the field with instructional briefings. Team members are assigned a
primary mission role in order to hone our individual skills and provide
necessary support for the team as we compete in regional tournaments and events.
The primary goals of the team are to:
1. Create and enforce a standardized set of rules to ensure a safe and honorable playing environment at all Direct Action events.
2. Promote positive and enjoyable airsoft activities in North FL.
3. Introduce new players to the game and make them acquainted with the way the sport should be
played.
We play every Saturday morning starting at 9:00AM at one field, Paintball Adventures but we are always looking for new places/events to play.
